Architecture / How Way fits together
One source.
Several ways in.
Write the guidance once. Build a shared catalog. Read it on the web or bring it into your agent, with the same decisions behind every entry point.
Follow the guidanceFrom source to reference
One build. Shared context.
Turborepo builds the catalog before its plugin and website consumers.
01 / Author
Standards & decisions
The owning Markdown files hold the guidance. The catalog index records each reference’s scope, source, tags, and review date.
standards/ + docs/standards/catalog.jsonEdit the owning source.
02 / Build
A validated catalog
The shared package validates metadata and content hashes. Its CLI and read-only MCP server search and retrieve the packaged references.

03 / Use
Choose your entry point
- Codex & Claude CodeGenerated plugins with skills and local MCP retrieval.
- The websiteReadable, searchable references from the same catalog.
- Global instructionsManaged separately through explicit CLI setup.
Adapt delivery to each host.
Theme owns brand tokens. Lumen owns component contracts. Way points to those sources; current repository evidence takes precedence over snapshots.
Access & ownership
Read freely.
Change deliberately.
Looking up a standard and installing instructions are separate operations. Your agent’s runtime configuration stays under your control.
- Search & retrieve
- The MCP reads the packaged catalog. It does not read arbitrary files or change your agent’s configuration.
- Preview & install
- CLI setup requires the exact preview hash before writing managed instructions and versioned references. It preserves surrounding text and retains a private backup receipt.
- Keep local control
- Models, permissions, trusted directories, credentials, and history stay outside setup’s write scope. Rollback refuses to erase later instruction edits.
